How Transactions Are Done
A Bitcoin transaction is simply a message sent to the network. It says: who pays, who receives, and how much. Wallet apps handle the technical details. What matters is the practical flow.
Receiving Bitcoin
To receive Bitcoin, you generate a receiving address in your wallet. This address is shown as text and as a QR code. You share it with the sender.
Important details:
- Each address is unique
- You can create a new address for every payment
- Creating an address is free and instant
Once the sender broadcasts the transaction, the network can see it immediately.
Sending Bitcoin
To send Bitcoin, you enter or scan the recipient’s address. Then you choose the amount to send.
Before sending, your wallet asks for a transaction fee. This fee is paid to miners and affects speed:
- Higher fee → faster confirmation
- Lower fee → slower confirmation
When you press send, your wallet signs the transaction and broadcasts it to the Bitcoin network. After confirmation, the transaction becomes permanent.
